Andrew James Bates
Andrew James Bates (born January 8, 1987) is an American political staffer who served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Deputy Press Secretary. A member of the Democratic Party, he was previously the Director of Rapid Response for the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign. Bates also worked in the Obama-Biden Administration as Press Secretary for the U.S. Trade Representative (2014–2016) and as a communications aide in the White House (2010–2013). Bates was the North Carolina communications director for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign and led the Democratic super PAC American Bridge's House races arm in 2018. 2023 Hawaii Wildfires
The 2023 Hawaii wildfires were a series of wildfires that broke out in early August 2023 in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires prompted evacuations and caused widespread damage, killing at least 102 people and leaving two people missing in the town of Lahaina, Hawaii, Lahaina on Maui's northwest coast.
