Ancient Bards
Ancient Bards is an Italian symphonic power metal band, formed in January 2006 by keyboard player Daniele Mazza. History Line-Up The project, originated in the mind of Daniele Mazza, started to materialize in 2006 after Daniele met with Bass (guitar), bass player Martino Garattoni. The first stable line up was completed in 2007, with Sara Squadrani as singer, Alessandro Carichini as drummer, and Claudio Pietronik and Fabio Balducci as guitarists. In September 2010, Alessandro left the band, to be replaced by a new drummer Federico Gatti. The latest line-up change occurred in the end of 2013 after recording the third album ''A New Dawn Ending'', when Balducci left the band for personal reasons. For live shows in 2014 Simone Bertozzi filled in as a guest second guitarist. Albums The style and concept of their 2010 debut album, ''The Alliance of the Kings'', has been seen as inspired by fellow Italian band Rhapsody of Fire. Sara Squadrani
Sara Squadrani (born 14 February 1986) is an Italian soprano singer, best known as a vocalist of the Italian symphonic power metal band Ancient Bards since 2007. She has also collaborated with Arjen Anthony Lucassen's metal opera project ''Ayreon'' in 2013 and has a made guest appearance on album ''The Theory of Everything (Ayreon album), The Theory of Everything'' as a character called "The Girl". In 2016, she also collaborated with Italian power metal band Trick or Treat (band), Trick or Treat on the album ''Rabbits' Hill Pt. 2''. Besides singing, she studied at the University of Bologna as an architecture and building engineer, building engineering student. Wacken Open Air (, abbreviated as W:O:A) is a Heavy metal music, heavy metal music festival, held annually since 1990 on the first weekend of August in the village of Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Almost all styles and subgenres of hard rock and heavy metal music, metal are represented and hosted. It is now one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany.
