Anchors (Will Hoge Album)
''Anchors'' is the tenth studio album by country music musician Will Hoge released on August 11, 2017. Background After touring for his previous album, ''Small Town Dreams'', Hoge disbanded his group and started to write songs at home and toured solo. After a period of depression, Hoge saw his children get together in the family garage and perform songs. Hoge said, "I watched from the bedroom window and it was like a portal back to the time when you’re not thinking about touring companies or LLCs or insurance for employees...I was 16 or 17 when I got my first guitar and wanted to write songs and wanted to do this professionally. Seeing them really over the next couple of days helped me re-center what I wanted to do and I wrote that song, ’17.'" Reception The album has been met with positive reception. Will Hoge
Will Hoge (born November 14, 1972) is an American Americana country music singer, songwriter, and musician from Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Early life Will Hoge was born and grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, located just south of Nashville. His sound was influenced by his musician father and uncles and the extensive record collection that his father kept. Hoge attended Western Kentucky University to study history, planning to become a high school history teacher and basketball coach. He decided that he wanted to try his hand at rock and roll and began writing music. Will left the university after realizing he wanted to be a musician. Early band Will released an early EP of original music with his band Spoonful in the mid-1990s. However, the band was not picked up and eventually disbanded. Thirty Tigers is an American music marketing, distribution and management company for independent artists, based in Nashville. History The company was founded in 2002 by David Macias and Deb Markland and is distributed by The Orchard. In 2014, Thirty Tigers entered into a strategic partnership with Sony Music Nashville to promote Chase Rice's single " Ready Set Roll" and album '' Ignite the Night''.
