An anchor is a device that attaches to the sea bottom to prevent a boat from drifting. Anchor
An anchor is a device, normally made of metal, used to secure a vessel to the bed of a body of water to prevent the craft from drifting due to wind or current. The word derives from Latin ', which itself comes from the Greek (). Anchors can either be temporary or permanent. Permanent anchors are used in the creation of a mooring, and are rarely moved; a specialist service is normally needed to move or maintain them. Vessels carry one or more temporary anchors, which may be of different designs and weights. A sea anchor is a drag device, not in contact with the seabed, used to minimize drift of a vessel relative to the water. A drogue is a drag device used to slow or help steer a vessel running before a storm in a following or overtaking sea, or when crossing a bar in a breaking sea. ''Anchor'' is the third extended play album by Australian alternative/rock group, Birds of Tokyo. It was released in April 2015 and peaked at number 23. It was certified platinum. The EP was written and recorded in Los Angeles which became Birds of Tokyo's home base for most of 2014. "As we were writing through that time, there was so much going on for us there in L.A.," Ian Kenny explained. "There was lots of shows and we were constantly in and out of the studio with a lot of commitments so we felt like fairly restless creatures – and we were considering calling the EP Restless Creatures," he revealed. Ali John Meredith-Lacey (born 11 August 1991), better known under his stage name Novo Amor, is a Welsh multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, sound designer and producer. I Am Empire is an American rock band from San Jose, California. Formed in 2008, the band currently consists of Austin Lyons (lead vocals) and Joshua Case (bass and vocals). Background After touring for his previous album, ''Small Town Dreams'', Hoge disbanded his group and started to write songs at home and toured solo.
