Anbu Engey
''Anbu Engey'' () is a 1958 Indian Tamil-language drama film, directed by D. Yoganand and produced by V. Govindarajan. Its story and dialogue were written by Murasoli Maran, and screenplay by Rajendra. The film stars S. S. Rajendran, K. Balaji, Pandari Bai and S. V. Ranga Rao, with Devika, T. R. Ramachandran, Manorama and Mynavathi in supporting roles. It was released on 12 December 1958. Cast Soundtrack The music was composed by Vedha, with lyrics written by Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram, Kannadasan, Thanjai N. Ramaiah Dass, Vindhan and V. Seetharaman. The two songs ''Melay Parakkum Rockettu'' and ''Dingiri Dingale'' (the songs with Baila music, which in turn was influenced by Portuguese music) topped the charts. The song ''Dingiri Dingale (Meenachi)'' was covered in Sinhala as ''Pissu Vikare (Dagena Polkatu Male)'' by H. R. Jothipala, Milton Perera, M. S. Fernando. Murasoli Maran
Murasoli Maran (17 August 1934, Thirukkuvalai – 23 November 2003) was an Indian politician and leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, which was headed by his maternal uncle and mentor, M. Karunanidhi. A Member of Parliament for 36 years, he was Union Minister in three separate central governments, and in charge of Urban Development in the V. P. Singh government; Industry in the Gowda and Gujral governments; and Commerce and Industry under Vajpayee. Outside of politics, Maran was a journalist and scriptwriter for films. Biography Murasoli Maran was born on 17 August 1934 to Shanmugasundari, the elder sister of M. Karunanidhi, in Thirukkuvalai, Madras Presidency in present-day Tamil Nadu. The Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) is a funding programme and digital archive run by the British Library in London. It has the purpose of preserving cultural heritage where resources may be limited. Each year EAP awards grants to researchers to identify and preserve culturally important archives by digitising them ''in situ''. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music.
