Amy Broadhurst
Amy Sara Broadhurst (born 17 March 1997) is an Irish amateur boxer. She is the 2022 IBA World Light-welterweight champion, and won the gold medal in the lightweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Broadhurst represented Ireland in the light welterweight division at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. She won the bronze medal in the lightweight division at the 2019 Women's European Amateur Boxing Championships. She won successive gold medals in the lightweight division at the 2018 and 2019 EUBC European U22 Championships. Background Amy Broadhurst has represented both Ireland and Northern Ireland at amateur level. Amy was born in Ireland but also qualifies for Northern Ireland through her father Tony, who was born in England. Santos Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez Barragán (; born 18 July 1990) is a Mexican professional boxer. He has won multiple world championships in four weight classes from light middleweight to light heavyweight, including unified titles in three of those weight classes and lineal titles in two. The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. Anna Geary (born 28 July 1987) is a camogie player and television personality from Milford, County Cork, Ireland. Sporting career She is a winner of four All Star awards, most recently in 2011. She previously won All-Star awards in 2005 and 2006 and 2010. and All Ireland medals in 2005 2006, 2009 and 2014. She was nominated for a further All-Star award in 2007. Geary was captain as Cork won the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship. Geary Is the winner of 3 All Ireland Club medals in 2013, 2014 and 2016. ''Ireland's Fittest Family'' is an Irish TV series where families from across Ireland compete in different adventure races and fitness competitions in an effort to win €15,000 and the title of 'Ireland's Fittest Family'. Since 2014 there have been ten seasons of the programme and three celebrity specials. Season 1 The first season saw coaches, Davy Fitzgerald, Kenneth Egan, Nikki Symmons and Eddie O'Sullivan take part in the competition. In the first episode each coach began with three families. The Heats took place in Dublin docks, the quarterfinals took place in Killary Adventure Centre, the semifinals took place in Hell and Back, the final returned to Dublin docks. The European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) is the European governing body in amateur boxing. It is a member of the world governing body International Boxing Association (Amateur), AIBA.
