Alpha And Omega
Alpha (Α or α) and omega (Ω or ω) are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, and a title of Christ and God in the Book of Revelation. This pair of letters is used as a Christian symbol, and is often combined with the Cross, Chi-rho, or other Christian symbols. Origin The first written record we have of the phrase "alpha and omega" is from some old manuscripts of the Christian New Testament. The phrase "I am the Alpha and the Omega" ( Koiné Greek: "ἐγώ εἰμί τὸ Ἄλφα καὶ τὸ Ὦ"), is an appellation of Jesus and of the Father in the Book of Revelation (verses 1:8, 21:6, and 22:13). The first part of this phrase ("I am the Alpha and the Omega") is first found in Chapter 1 verse 8 ("1:8"), and is found in every manuscript of Revelation that has 1:8. Alpha Et Omega
The Alpha et Omega was an occult order, initially named the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, co-founded in London, England by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers in 1888. The Alpha et Omega was one of four daughter organisations into which the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn fragmented, the others being the Stella Matutina; the Isis-Urania Temple led by A.E. Waite and others; and Aleister Crowley's A∴A∴. Following a rebellion of adepts in London and an ensuing public scandal which brought the name of the Golden Dawn into disrepute, Mathers renamed the branch of the Golden Dawn remaining loyal to his leadership to "Alpha et Omega" sometime between 1903 and 1913. "The title was usually abbreviated as A.O." and according to some sources its full name was "Rosicrucian Order of Alpha et Omega". Alpha Hydraulic Diggings
The Alpha Hydraulic Diggings are located one mile north of what was the town of Alpha during the California Gold Rush in 1850, but the site is now near the unincorporated town of Washington, California. The diggings became a registered California Historical Landmark (No. 628) on January 29, 1958. Inscription The plaque's inscription reads: ALPHA AND OMEGA One mile north of here were the towns of Alpha and Omega, named by gold miners in the early 1850s. ''Asymmetry'' is the third studio album by Australian progressive rock band Karnivool. It is their first release in over four years, since ''Sound Awake'' (2009). It was released on 19 July 2013. The album's first single, "We Are", was released, along with an accompanying music video, released on 14 June 2013. At the J Awards of 2013, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year. Background After extensive worldwide touring in support of their second album, ''Sound Awake'', Karnivool took a break in 2010 so that vocalist Ian Kenny could work with his other band, Birds of Tokyo. ''Daybreaker'' is the fifth studio album by British metalcore band Architects. It was released on 28 May 2012 through Zestone and Century Media Records in the United Kingdom and most of Europe and on 5 June 2012 in the United States. Alpha Omega (Cro-Mags Album)
''Alpha Omega'' (also referred to as ''Alpha-Omega'' or ''Alpha III Omega'') is the third album by the New York hardcore band Cro-Mags. It was released in 1992 on Century Media Records. In 2013, German record label Demons Run Amok Entertainment re-issued it on vinyl. The album features their former vocalist John Joseph who had been expelled from the band in 1987. According to founding guitarist and songwriter Parris Mayhew, he wrote most of ''Alpha Omega'' with former guitarist Rob Buckley. However, neither Mayhew or Buckley played on the actual recording, and the claim has been disputed by Flanagan and others.
