Allan Sherman (born Allan Copelon or Allan Gerald Copelon; November 30, 1924 – November 20, 1973) was an American musician, satirist, and television producer who became known as a song parodist in the early 1960s. ''The Loner'' is an American Western television series that played for one season on CBS from 1965 to 1966, with the alternate sponsorship of Philip Morris and Procter & Gamble. The series was created by Rod Serling a year after the cancellation of the series ''The Twilight Zone''. It was one of the last TV series broadcast by CBS in black-and-white. Synopsis The series was set in the years immediately after the American Civil War. Lloyd Bridges played the title character, William Colton, a former Union cavalry captain who went to the American west in search of a new life. ''What's Going On'' is an American game show that aired for five weeks beginning on November 28, 1954, and ending on December 26, 1954. The show aired on ABC and was a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman production. It was sponsored by Revlon, and originated live from New York City. Lee Bowman served as host of the show. There were six celebrities involved in the game: Hy Gardner, Audrey Meadows, Gene Raymond, Kitty Carlisle, Cliff Norton, and Susan Oakland. Jayne Meadows was a substitute panelist when her sister Audrey was doing a stage play. Henry Morgan (born Henry Lerner von Ost Jr.; March 31, 1915 – May 19, 1994) was an American humorist. He first became familiar to radio audiences in the 1930s and 1940s as a barbed but often self-deprecating satirist. Garry Moore (born Thomas Garrison Morfit; January 31, 1915 – November 28, 1993) was an American entertainer, comedic personality, game show host, and humorist best known for his work in television. Joseph Gilbert Fates (September 29, 1914 - May 1, 2000) was an American television producer. Early years Fates was a native of Newark, New Jersey, who studied economics at the University of Virginia. In the summer after he graduated he was an actor at the Barter Theatre in Virginia. Career Fates went from the Barter Theatre to New York. Broadway productions in which he performed included ''The Hill Between'' (1938), ''Where Do We Go From Here?'' (1938), ''The American Way'' (1939), and ''Stop Press'' (1939). William Selden Todman (July 31, 1916 – July 29, 1979) was an American television producer and personality born in New York City. He produced many of television's longest-running shows with business partner Mark Goodson, with whom he created Goodson-Todman Productions. Early life Todman was the son of a Wall Street accountant, Frederick S. Todman, CPA, whose accounting firm was known as Frederick S. Todman & Co. and for many years was located at 111 Broadway, downtown Manhattan. The firm represented some of the United States' biggest companies, including the New York Stock Exchange, American Stock Exchange, Polaroid, Eastman Kodak, and Chase Manhattan Bank. Frederick S. Mark Leo Goodson (January 14, 1915 – December 18, 1992) was an American television producer who specialized in game shows, most frequently with his business partner Bill Todman, with whom he created Goodson-Todman Productions.
