Ali Reza Eftekhari
Ali Reza Eftekhari (; born March 30, 1958) is an Iranian vocalist of Iranian classical and popular music. He is one of the most popular singers in Iran and his works are among the best-selling works of Iranian music. This singer has released more than seventy music albums so far. He is known as the man of a thousand faces of Iranian music. He is one of the few artists that have gained the respect and admiration of classical music lovers everywhere. It is refreshing to see younger artists continue to present beautiful classical Iranian music to the younger generation. Career Alireza Eftekhari was born in 1958 in Isfahan. As a child, he studied with Tabatabai, a violinist. From the age of 12, he studied vocal lines with Taj Esfahani. Roudaki Hall
Rudaki (also spelled Rodaki; ; – 940/41) was a poet, singer, and musician who is regarded as the first major poet to write in New Persian. A court poet under the Samanids, he reportedly composed more than 180,000 verses, yet only a small portion of his work has survived, most notably parts of his versification of the '' Kalila wa-Dimna'', a collection of Indian fables. Born in the village of Banoj (located in the present-day Rudak area), the most important part of Rudaki's career was spent at the court of the Samanids. While biographical information connects him to the Samanid '' amir'' (ruler) Nasr II (), he may have already joined the court under the latter's predecessor, Ahmad Samani (). Fajr International Music Festival () is Iran's most prestigious Music Festival founded in 1986. The festival is affiliated with UNESCO and includes national and international competition sections. Since its establishment, many musicians from several countries like Austria, Germany, France participated in the event. The festival have enjoyed a strong presence of Asian countries as well. Iran's National Orchestra
Iran's National Orchestra () is a orchestra, national orchestra of Iran, which was founded in 1998 under the conduction of Farhad Fakhreddini. The Orchestra was dissolved in October 2012, reportedly because of financial problems. However later it formed again, and performed multiple times in the coming years. In April 27, 2019, it performed some epic and national Iranian songs at Kerman, Kerman’s Ganjali Khan Square. In March 14, 2022, it performed "New Century Song" in Vahdat Hall in Tehran, and in December 4, 2022, it performed in Tehran on the occasion of International Volunteer Day. The Zayanderud or Zayandehrud (; from "fertile" or "life-giver", and "river"), also spelled as ''Zayanderud'' or ''Zayanderood, ...'', is the largest river of the Iranian Plateau in central Iran. Geography The Zayandeh starts in the Zard-Kuh subrange of the Zagros Mountains in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. Amir Kabir
Mirza Taghi Khan-e Farahani (), better known as Amir Kabir (Persian: ; 9 January 1807 – 10 January 1852), was chief minister to Naser al-Din Shah Qajar for the first three years of his reign. He is widely considered to be "Iran's first reformer", a moderniser who was "unjustly struck down" as he attempted to bring "gradual reform" to Iran. Amir Kabir founded the first centre for higher education in Iran and the second Persian-language newspaper in the country. He prohibited bribery, torture of defendants and prisoners, and structured Iranian tax and financial system. As the prime minister, he also ordered suppression of Babism and the execution of the founder of the movement, the Báb. Maryam Mirzakhani (, ; 12 May 1977 – 14 July 2017) was an Iranian mathematician and a professor of mathematics at Stanford University. Her research topics included Teichmüller space, Teichmüller theory, hyperbolic geometry, ergodic theory, and symplectic geometry. Sohrab Sepehri ( 7 October 1928 – 21 April 1980; ) was a notable Iranian poet and painter. He is considered to be one of the five most famous Iranian poets who have practiced modern poetry alongside Nima Youshij, Ahmad Shamlou, Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, and Forough Farrokhzad. Baba Tahir
Baba Tahir or Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani () was an 11th-century dervish poet from Hamadan, Iran who lived during the reign of Tugril of the Seljuk dynasty over Iran. This is almost all that is known of him as he lived a mysterious lifestyle. Although the prefix "Baba" (roughly meaning 'The Wise' or 'The Respected') has been thought as part of his name in all known sources, his nickname "Oryan" (meaning 'The Naked') did not appear until about 17th century. It is likely that the nickname was attributed to him because he seemed to lead a very spiritual and stoic lifestyle and thus was figuratively not clothed with worldly and material needs and suggests he may have been a wandering dervish. His poetry is written in the Hamadani dialect of the Persian language. L. P.
