Alex Mativo
Alex Mativo (born 21 April 1994) is a Kenyan entrepreneur and fashion designer. He is the founder and CEO of E-LAB, a company aimed at eradicating electronic waste in Africa by transforming it into products for the fashion and interior design industry. He is also the recipient of the Queen's Young Leaders Award. He has two companies. He founded Nanasi which helps businesses and brands sell on all the different social networks using a single platform. His other company Ethnic Brand is a virtual factory for fashion brands. Early life Alex Mativo was born in Nairobi, Kenya grew up in Athi-river. He attended Lenana school in Nairobi. Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. African Leadership University
African Leadership University oALUis a network of tertiary institutions with operations in both Mauritius and Rwanda with a bachelor's degree. ALU's first campus was launched in September 2015 in Mauritius and is known as the African Leadership College. Its second campus was launched in September 2017 in Kigali, Rwanda. Electronic waste or e-waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Used electronics which are destined for refurbishment, reuse, resale, salvage recycling through material recovery, or disposal are also considered e-waste. Informal processing of e-waste in developing countries can lead to adverse human health effects and environmental pollution. Electronic scrap components, such as CPUs, contain potentially harmful materials such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, or brominated flame retardants. Queen's Young Leader Award
Queen's Young Leader Award was an annual award given in recognition of leadership skills by young persons between the ages of 18 and 29. The award was open to selected Commonwealth of Nations to recognize exceptional people or organizations who are making a difference in improving other citizen's lives. The program was established by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, in partnership with Comic Relief and the Royal Commonwealth Society. The programme closed in 2019. Athi River (town)
Athi River is a town outside Nairobi, Kenya in Machakos County. The town is named after the Athi River, which passes through. It is also known as Mavoko. Athi River hosts the Mavoko Municipal Council and is the headquarters of Mavoko division, which is part of Machakos County. The town's population is 81,302 (2019 census), and it is still growing due to its proximity to the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi. Lenana School
Lenana School is a secondary school in Nairobi, Kenya. It was formed in 1949 by colonial governor Philip Euen Mitchell, known then as the Duke of York School, named after a British World War II 1939 King George V-class battleship. The bell from HMS ''Duke of York'' is mounted on a bell-shed by the front of the school parade ground between the school chapel and the hall. The first students were briefly housed at the then-British colonial governor's house, which is the current State House as they waited for the school's completion. The founding principal was R. H. James. The school was renamed Lenana School in 1969 after the central person in the conflict between British imperialists and the Maasai, the latter's spiritual leader Laibon Lenana. Dr. Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim () GCSK (born 17 October 1959) is a Mauritian politician and biodiversity scientist who served as the sixth president of Mauritius from 2015 to 2018.
