Byalynichy ( be, Бялынічы, ; rus, Белыничи, Belynichi, pl, Białynicze) is a city and administrative center of Byalynichy District of Mogilev Region in Belarus. Among other things, the town is known for the icon Our Lady of Byalynichy, venerated by both Eastern Orthodox, Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic Christians of Belarus. History Around 780 Jews lived in Byalynichy at the eve of World War II. They composed about 24 percent of the total population. The Jews were mainly traders. Byalynichy was under German occupation from 6 July 1941 until 29 June 1944. There were different execution sites of the Byalynichy Jews. The main one is in the forest: more than 600 Jews (mainly women and children) from the Byalynichy ghetto were shot in two large pits on December 12, 1941. 2015–16 Belarusian Cup was the twenty fifth season of the Belarusian annual cup competition. Contrary to the league season, it is conducted in a fall-spring rhythm. The first were played on 23 May 2015. Winners of the Cup qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League. The 2013 Belarusian Premier League was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began in April 2013 and ended in November 2013. BATE Borisov are the defending champions, having won their 9th league title the previous year. Format change Starting with this season, the league will be played in two phases. The first phase will consist of a regular double-round robin tournament between 12 teams. The 2012 Belarusian Premier League was the 22nd season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began on 24 March 2012 and ended on 25 November 2012. BATE Borisov were the defending champions, having won their 8th league title last year. Teams Dnepr Mogilev were relegated to the Belarusian First League after finishing the 2011 season in last place, leaving the league for the first time since the competition's establishment in 1992. They were replaced by 2011 First League champions Slavia Mozyr, who make their return to the league after a five-year absence. Vitebsk, as the 11th-placed team, had to compete in the relegation/promotion playoffs against First League runners-up Partizan Minsk. The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). The 2011 Belarusian First League is the 21st season of 2nd level football in Belarus. It started on April 23 and will end in November 2011. Team changes from 2010 season The winners of last season (Gomel) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by last-placed team of 2010 Belarusian Premier League table ( Partizan Minsk). The runners-up of last season ( SKVICH Minsk) lost the promotion/relegation play-off to Torpedo Zhodino (11th-placed Premier League team) and both clubs stayed in their respective leagues. Before the start of each season the format of the league is adjusted depending on how many teams are willing to participate and able to fulfill licensing criteria.
