Aldo Quaglio

	Aldo Quaglio Aldo Quaglio (Saverdun, 12 February 1932 – Lavelanet, 9 March 2017) was a French rugby union and rugby league player. He represented France at the 1960 Rugby League World Cup The 1960 Rugby League World Cup was the third staging of the tournament and the first Rugby League World Cup to be held in Great Britain. 	Saverdun Saverdun (; Languedocien: ''Savardun'') is a commune in the Ariège department in southwestern France. Population Inhabitants of Saverdun are called ''Saverdunois'' in French. Name Saverdun gave its name to the former city of Verdun, Quebec, Canada, now a borough of Montreal, which was founded in 1671 by Zacharie Dupuy, a native of Saverdun. History Count Raymond VII of Toulouse surrendered Saverdun to Imbert de Beaujeu and Hugh of La Tour-du-Pin, royal agents, during the war of 1242. 	Dual-code Rugby Internationals A dual-code rugby international is a rugby footballer who has played at the senior international level in both codes of rugby, 13-a-side rugby league and 15-a-side rugby union. Rugby league started as a breakaway version of rugby in Northern England in 1895 and in New Zealand and Australia in 1908, and consequently a number of early top-class rugby league players had been star players in the rugby union code. Accordingly, a high proportion of Australia and New Zealand's dual-code rugby internationals played in rugby league's formative years in those countries.
