Alberto Guerra (footballer)
Alberto Guerra López (born 8 May 1944) is a Mexican former football player and manager. He played for Guadalajara throughout his career. Playing career When Guerra was five, his parents decided to move to the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, where he joined the youth ranks of Club Deportivo Guadalajara and also played for the Selección Jalisco youth team. He made his debut on August 23, 1964, at the age of 20, in a match against Club Atlas in Guadalajara. Later in 1969 joined C.F. Monterrey and then in 1975 he joined Atlético Potosí, where he finished his career in 1976. Management career Upon retiring, Guerra becomes head coach of Atlético Potosí, starting off with the youth reserves and eventually going to lead the first team in the 1979–1980 season. After San Luis, Guerra coached Club Deportivo Guadalajara twice, with whom he crowned in the 1986–1987 season and two runners-up runs in 1982-1983 and 1983–1984. Ely Guerra (born Elizabeth Guerra Vázquez, February 13, 1972) is a Mexican singer-songwriter who was raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The daughter of Alberto Guerra and Gloria Vázquez, Guerra lived the first years of her life in Monterrey, where she was born, before moving to San Luis Potosí and then to Guadalajara, due to her father's work. It was in Guadalajara that she first discovered her passion for music. She has a mezzo-soprano voice. Life and career Guerra wrote her first song at age ten. She attended school at the Evergreen State College in Washington. In 1986, Guerra was the backing vocalist of the band Carmín. At the age of fifteen, she decided to follow her dreams and look for opportunities in Mexico City. At age 20, she signed her first contract with BMG. Copa MX, also known as Copa Corona MX for sponsorship reasons, was an association football competition in Mexico and the domestic cup tournament for clubs at the highest and second levels of Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Copa México (1942–1963, 1970–1997) and also as Copa Presidente (1963–1970), the first season of the professional era was held in 1942–43. The cup tournament was not held in several years (1976–1988, 1992–1994, 1997–2012) and currently the competition has been paused since the 2019–20 edition.
