Universal Music Latin Entertainment, a division of Universal Music Group, is a record company specialized in producing and distributing Latin music in Mexico, the United States, and Puerto Rico. Ana Sol Escobar (born 5 November 1976), formerly known professionally as Anasol and now as Sol Escobar, is a Colombian singer. Early life and education Escobar was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976 to Colombian parents. She began formal dance instruction at the age of five. She spent most of her childhood in between, Colombia, Argentina, Spain and the U.S. In her teens she spent most of the time in Colombia but spent one year in Florida. Banda Sinaloense El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, often referred to simply as Banda El Recodo, is a Mexican banda formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, in 1938. It has been under the direction of the Lizárraga family. Banda El Recodo has recorded with popular artists such as José Alfredo Jiménez and Juan Gabriel. Marco Antonio Solís
Marco Antonio Solís Sosa (born 29 December 1959) is a Mexican musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Solís began his musical career at the age of six, performing with his cousin Joel Solís as Los Hermanitos Solís. In 1975, he co-founded Los Bukis, of which he was the lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. The band split up after nearly two decades of success, with Solís pursuing a solo career. The Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album was an award presented to recording artists for quality albums in the Mexican American music genre at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1958 and originally called the Gramophone Awards. Ranchera () or canción ranchera is a genre of traditional music of Mexico. It dates to before the years of the Mexican Revolution. Rancheras today are played in the vast majority of regional Mexican music styles. Drawing on rural traditional folk music, the ranchera developed as a symbol of a new national consciousness in reaction to the aristocratic tastes of the period.
