Aert Mijtens
Aert Mijtens (c.1541–1602) was a Flemish Renaissance painter. Early life Mitjens was born in Brussels. He was the first known member of a family of painters named Mijtens or Mytens. He was the uncle of Isaac Mijtens (ca. 1602–1666), a portrait painter in The Hague and Daniel Mijtens (ca. 1590-ca. 1647), a painter at the English court. Career According to the early biographer Karel van Mander he travelled to Rome where he was called Rinaldo fiammingo and became a friend of the painter Hans Speckaert. Aert Van Der Neer
Aert van der Neer, or Aernout or Artus (c. 16039 November 1677), was a landscape painter of the Dutch Golden Age, specializing in small night scenes lit only by moonlight and fires, and snowy winter landscapes, both often looking down a canal or river. He was a contemporary of Aelbert Cuyp and Meindert Hobbema, and like the latter he lived and died in comparative obscurity. Biography Recent (2008) research by René van Dijk of the Gorinchem Regional Archive has established that Van Der Neer was born in Gorinchem. Spring 2009 newsletter (in Dutch) of the Stichting Gouden Eeuw Gorinchem (Gorinchem Golden Age Foundation). According to Arnold Houbraken, Van Der Neer lived in Gorinchem as a steward to the lords of Arkel, which would account for the absence of any pictures dating from his early years. Aert Anthoniszoon (abbreviated Anthonisz.) or Anthonissen, also known as Aart or Aert van Antum (born ; buried 7 September 1620) was a Dutch marine painter. Life and career Aert Anthoniszoon was born at Antwerp. His parents moved the family to Amsterdam in 1591. He was possibly a pupil of Hendrick Cornelisz Vroom. In 1603, when he married Baycken Coutermans from Mechelen he signed a document in Amsterdam stating that he was 23 years old and had lived there for 12 years. He gave her a power of attorney to settle an inheritance in Mechelen in 1614. He was buried in the Zuiderkerk of Amsterdam.. Until 1973 Anthoniszoon was known as Aart or Aert van Antum, as his signatures on early paintings were interpreted as "Aert anAntum". Aert van der Goes (1475 - 1 November 1545) was a member of the House of Goes and a Dutch Grand Pensionary. He studied at the University of Leuven. Life Aert van der Goes was born in Delft, and was a lawyer and pensionary of Delft from 1508–1525. From May 1525 to January 1544 he was State Attorney (Grand Pensionary) of the States of Holland.
