Aerin Frankel
Aerin Frankel (born May 24, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was one of the best goaltenders in women's NCAA history. She won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2021. She is a two-time recipient of the WHCA National Goalie of the Year award and was the inaugural winner in 2021. In 2023, Frankel won gold with the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship in Brampton, Ontario. Playing career Frankel was raised in Briarcliff, New York, and is Jewish. She began skating at the age of four, becoming a goaltender at the age of nine. The Boston Fleet are a professional ice hockey team based in the Greater Boston area that competes in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). They are one of the six charter franchises of the league. The team plays its home games at Tsongas Center. Shattuck-Saint Mary's
Shattuck-St. Mary's (also known as Shattuck-St. Mary's School, Shattuck, or simply SSM) is a coeducational Episcopal-affiliated boarding school in the city of Faribault, Minnesota. NCAA Division I women's ice hockey All-Tournament team is an honor bestowed at the conclusion of the NCAA women's ice hockey tournament to the players judged to have performed the best during the championship. Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award
The Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award is given to the top female college ice hockey player in the United States. The award is presented during the women's annual ice hockey championship, the Frozen Four. The award was first presented in 1998. The award is named in honor of the late Patty Kazmaier-Sandt, a four-year varsity letter winner and All Ivy League honoree for the Princeton University women's ice hockey team from 1981 through 1986. She also played field hockey and lacrosse. She died on February 15, 1990, at the age of 28 from a rare blood disease. Patty was the daughter of Heisman Trophy winner Dick Kazmaier. Florence Schelling
Florence Isabelle Schelling (born 9 March 1989) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey goaltender. She briefly served as general manager of SC Bern from 2020 to 2021. She was the first woman to be named GM of a professional men's team in the world. During her playing career, Schelling competed internationally with the Swiss women's national ice hockey team at the 2006 Winter Olympics, 2010 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Olympics. In the 2012 CWHL Draft, Schelling was selected by the Montreal Stars, but opted to play the 2012–13 season with the Brampton Thunder instead. She played with EHC Bülach of the Swiss men's National League B in the 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons, the first and only woman to ever play in the league.
