Adventure People
Adventure People was a toy series introduced by Fisher-Price in 1975. The line lasted through 1985 and was targeted towards 4-9 year olds. Although they served as an alternative to G.I. Joe and other, similarly themed action figures, they utilized the 3.75 inch size which was made famous by Kenner's Star Wars line. The designers of the early Kenner Star Wars action figures used Adventure People to help conceptualize how the figures would look. The Adventure People line featured "real life" heroes and adventurers such as park rangers, scuba divers, astronauts, and emergency workers, as well as a number of science fiction themed figures including aliens and robots. An action figure is a poseable character model figure made most commonly of plastic, and often based upon characters from a film, comic book, military, video game or television program; fictional or historical. These figures are usually marketed toward boys and adult collectors. The term was coined by Hasbro in 1964 to market G.I. Joe to boys (while competitors called similar offerings ''boy's dolls''). According to a 2005 study in Sweden, action figures which display traditional masculine traits primarily target boys. While most commonly marketed as a child's toy, the action figure has gained widespread acceptance as collector item for adults. Kenner Products, known simply as Kenner, was an American toy company founded in 1946. Throughout its history, the Kenner brand produced several highly recognizable toys and merchandise lines including action figures like the original series of ''Star Wars'', ''Jurassic Park'' and ''Batman'' as well as die cast models. A ranger, park ranger, park warden, or forest ranger is a law enforcement person entrusted with protecting and preserving parklands – national, state, provincial, or local parks. Construx
Construx is a brand of plastic building toys introduced by Fisher-Price in 1983. Unlike other building toys such as Lego, Construx feature beam-like pieces of varying lengths that snapped on to cubical connector knots in order to build large shapes. These are relatively secure even though no nuts or bolts were used. Panels allowed assembly of flat surfaces. Hinges, motors, wheels, and other movable parts expand the number of different shapes that can be built, and make moving creations possible.
