Abul Asad
Abul Asad (born 1942) is a Bangladeshi writer and journalist. He was the editor of one of the oldest national dailies in Bangladesh, '' The Daily Sangram''. He is admired by Muslim youth of Bangladesh for his thriller series, Saimum Series. He is also known as an Islamic thinker and intellectual in Bangladesh. Asad's cultural activities are largely guided by patriotism and devotion to Islamic ideology. He is one of the renowned cultural activists, who devoted their intellectual capabilities to nurture cultural and ideological heritage in Bangladesh. He is involved with many socio-cultural and professional organisations. He is the President of Bangla Sahittya Parishad (BSP), Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Centre (BIC). Rajshahi (, ) is a metropolis, metropolitan city and a major Urban area, urban, administrative, commercial and educational centre of Bangladesh. Founded in 1949 by Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Yar Mohammad Khan, it is the oldest and one of the most circulated newspapers in Bangladesh. Mahmudur Rahman
Mahmudur Rahman (; born 6 July 1953), is the owner and editor of the Bengali daily Amar Desh in Bangladesh also an author, engineer and businessman. A strong critic of the Awami League government since 2008, he has faced over 50 defamation and sedition charges. He is the only person sentenced for contempt by the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, with human rights groups labeling the government's actions against him as judicial harassment.
