Abdur Rahman (IPS)
Abdur Rahman (born January 8, 1973, ) is a former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Maharashtra who resigned in 2019 in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). He is an IIT graduate with over 21 years of experience in senior leadership roles. Early life and background He was born on January 8, 1973, in Bihar. He completed his secondary education at Bipin High School in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar, and then attended Science College Patna for his SSC. He pursued a Bachelor of Technology, B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from the IIT Kanpur, graduating in 1995. His academic achievements laid the foundation for his subsequent 19-year-long career in civil services.
