Abdulmajid Tapa Tchermoev
Abdulmajid Tapa Tchermoev (1882 – August 28, 1937) was a North Caucasian statesman of Chechen people, Chechen origin, general, oil magnate and the first prime minister of the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus. He was in office from 11 May 1918 until December 1918. His official title was ''General Tchermoeff, Prime Minister of the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus''. Early life Tchermoev was born in Grozny, then part of the Caucasus Viceroyalty (1801–1917), Caucasus Viceroyalty within the Russian Empire (now in modern day Chechnya within the Russian Federation) in 1882. Tapa was the eldest son of General Ortsu Tchermoev and belonged to the Biltoy teip. He was educated at the Vladikavkaz real school and at the in St. Petersburg, Russia, St. Petersburg. Mountainous Republic Of The Northern Caucasus
The Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus (MRNC), also referred to as the United Republics of the North Caucasus, Mountain Republic, or the Republic of the Mountaineers, was a transcontinental state in Eurasia. It encompassed the entirety of the North Caucasus and emerged during the Russian Civil War and existed from 1918 to 1919. It formed as a consolidation of various North Caucasian ethnic groups, including the Abazins, Circassians, Chechens, Karachays, Ossetians, Balkars, Ingush, Mountain Jews, and Dagestanis. The MRNC encompassed the former territories of Terek Oblast and Dagestan Oblast within the Russian Empire. These territories now constitute the present-day republics of Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia–Alania, Kabardino-Balkaria, Dagestan, and a portion of Stavropol Krai in the Russian Federation.
