Abahani Limited Dhaka (), also referred as Dhaka Abahani or Abahani Limited, is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The club currently competes in the Bangladesh Premier League, the top flight of Bangladeshi football. The club was founded as Abahani Krira Chakra (), through the re-organisation of Iqbal Sporting Club in 1972 by Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of the first president of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The club was converted into a Limited company in 1989. Abahani Limited Dhaka is regarded as one of the country's most renowned and well supported clubs. Bangladesh Federation Cup
Federation Cup, also known as Bangladesh Federation Cup or simply Fed Cup , is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. Maruful Haque
Maruful Haque () is a Bangladeshi professional football coach and former player, who is currently serving as the head coach of Bangladesh Premier League club Abahani Limited Dhaka. He is the first-ever South Asian to get a UEFA A license in 2015. He is also one of the first Bangladeshi coaches to obtain AFC Pro-Diploma. Abahani Limited cricket team has played List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier League since 2013–14. It has won the title in 2015–16, 2017–18, 2018–19, 2022–23 and 2023–24. In Twenty20 cricket, it also won the 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. Sheikh Kamal
Sheikh Kamal (5 August 1949 – 15 August 1975) was a Bangladeshi politician, athlete and military officer. He was the eldest son of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh, and the younger brother of Sheikh Hasina, who would later become prime minister of Bangladesh. He was the founder of Abahani Limited Dhaka. Early life and education Kamal completed his matriculation from Shaheen School, Dhaka, in 1967 and his Higher Secondary Certificate Examination from Dhaka College in 1969. The Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, commonly known as Bordoloi Trophy, is a premier annual Indian football tournament held in Guwahati and organized by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA). Sait Nagjee Football Tournament
The Sait Nagjee All India Football Tournament was an invitational Association football, football tournament held in Kozhikode, Kerala. The tournament was very popular from the beginning and attracted large crowd since 1952. The tournament was played until 1995, though with stoppages a couple of times. In 1995, the tournament was won by JCT F.C., JCT Mills. Since then, there was a gap of 21 year during which the tournament was not held. The tournament was revived again in 2016 Sait Nagjee Trophy, 2016 with clubs from different parts of the world and Argentina national under-23 football team.
