Aarhus Håndbold
Aarhus Håndbold was a handball club from Aarhus, Denmark. The club was founded in 2001 originally under the name Århus GF, as an extension of the traditional Aarhus clubs AGF, Brabrand IF, VRI and Århus KFUM/YMCA / Hasle. AGF chose in 2010 to withdraw from the superstructure, and the club was renamed from AGF Håndbold to Aarhus Håndbold. The home arena of Aarhus Håndbold was Ceres Arena. The club struggled in the last year of its existence with economic problems and in April 2021 the club was declared bankrupt. In connection with this all the players from Aarhus Håndbold were released and Århus Håndbold merged with the neighbors from Skanderborg Håndbold under the name Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. In June 2023 AGF re-entered the project and bought 50% of the shares in the club, and the club was renamed Skanderborg AGF Håndbold. In 2013 they won the Danish Super Cup. Ceres Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United Elitehandball, Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Handball Championship, 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. The arena was also used for basketball, by Bakken Bears, but because of the high price for renting the arena, Bakken Bears moved back to there old home Vejlby-Risskov Hallen. Rokometni klub Celje () or simply RK Celje, currently named Celje Pivovarna Laško () due to sponsorship reasons, is a professional handball club from Celje, Slovenia. Skanderborg AGF Håndbold, previously ''Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold'', is a men's Team handball, handball club based in Skanderborg in Jutland, Denmark. The club was founded in 1982 and was the result of a merger between Stilling-Skanderborg and Vrold-Skanderborg Handball Club. In 2021 Aarhus Håndbold merged with Skanderborg Håndbold's men's team, and they changed the name to Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. After the merger the club inherited the league licens of Skanderborg Håndbold, while the first governing board of the club was composed of four members from each former club. AGF Håndbold is a handball club from Aarhus, Denmark and is a part of the broader multisportsclub Aarhus Gymnastikforening. Currently, AGF Håndbold competes in the women's Danish 1st Division. The home arena of the club is Atletion. The club has 500 members, and a total of 24 youth teams and 9 senior teams. History While the sports club overall was founded in 1880, the Handball department was founded in 1935. Aarhus Håndbold Women is a women's handball club based in Aarhus, Denmark. As of the 2024–25 season, the team competes in the Damehåndboldligaen. The club also includes a men's team, competing the Danish 1st Division. In June 2024, it was announced that Aarhus United and Aarhus HC had decided to merge under the new club name ''Aarhus Håndbold''. When the club was founded, Skanderborg AGF Håndbold decided to sue them, as they used the same club name as one of the founders of Skanderborg AGF, Aarhus Håndbold. Erik Veje Rasmussen
Erik Veje Rasmussen (born 9 April 1959) is a former Danish handball player and handball coach who competed in the 1982 World Men's Handball Championship and 1984 Summer Olympics. In addition to Handball he is also an author and inventor of sports clothing. Playing career Veje Rasmussen started playing handball at Vallekilde-Hørve, his local club. From there he moved to Danish top club Helsingør IF, and was the top goalscorer of the 1983 Danish Handball League season. After 2 seasons he moved abroad playing in both Germany, Switzerland and Spain. At St. Otmar he acted as player-coach in multiple instances. During the 1980s he was one of the central players at the Danish National Team. In 1984 he finished fourth with the Denmark men's national handball team in the Olympic tournament. Christopher McDermott (born 7 June 1989) is a British handball player. He competed as part of Team GB at the 2012 London Olympic Games. He currently coaches the GB Men's Under 20s.
