''A Legend'' ( zh, s=传说, t=傳說) is a 2024 Chinese action fantasy film. It was written and directed by Stanley Tong and starred Jackie Chan, Lay Zhang, Gülnezer Bextiyar, Guli Nazha and Aarif Rahman. It was released in China on July 10, 2024. The film is a standalone sequel to ''The Myth (film), The Myth'' and ''Kung Fu Yoga'', though their plots are largely unrelated, only sharing the general theme, and Chan portrays characters different from those seen in previous movies. Plot This is a story about a past life relationship, a sequel to ''The Myth''. During an archaeological excavation, Professor Fang unearths a mysterious shamanic jade, which transports him and his assistant, Wang Jing, back to the Western Han dynasty. Stanley Tong
Stanley Tong (; born 7 April 1960) is a Hong Kong film director, producer, stunt choreographer, screenwriter, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is known for directing action-adventure films, including several with Jackie Chan. Early life Stanley Tong was born on 7 April 1960, in Hong Kong, and he completed his education in Hong Kong and Canada. Tong studied at the University of Manitoba. Film career Encouraged by his brother-in-law in Hong Kong, who was a filmmaker, Tong started his film career there in 1979 by working behind the scenes in films.
