The Army Rugby Football Club was founded in 1961 and for over 50 years the Army Black Knights have been a leader in USA Collegiate Rugby. The Army Ruggers are West Point's most successful team. In 1980 the USA Rugby Collegiate Championship playoff system was established. Since then, the Army Rugby team has qualified for every national playoff tournament, has reached more than ten semifinals, and has finished second in the nation 3 times. In 2022, Army won the CRAA D1A National Championship. All Cadet classes play and the team currently has over 60 members drawn from the United States Corps of Cadets fielding four rugby sides. Ards RFC (Ards Rugby Football Club) is a rugby club based in Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland, playing in the Ulster Rugby Championship Division 2. It is affiliated to the Ulster Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union. The club currently fields three adult teams and a women's team, North Down Women, who are a combination of players from Ards, Bangor and Donaghadee. Three youth teams also play at under-18, under-16 and under-14 levels. There is also a rapidly developing girls' junior section and a very successful mini rugby section in the club. Ammanford Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Ammanford, West Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. History Ammanford RFC's first officially recorded rugby match came in 1887 against a team from Mynyddbach, Swansea. The game was played at Ynys field opposite the River Amman and their initial clubhouse was the Cross Inn Hotel at Ammanford Square. Ammanford's first official strip colours were amber and black, then switching colours twice before the club settled on black and blue in 1912. In 1889, Ammanford RFC produced their first international player in Percy Lloyd. Lloyd played four international matches between 1889 and 1890 for Wales, against Scotland, Ireland and England twice. Alnwick RFC is an amateur rugby union club based in the town of Alnwick, Northumberland in north-east England. The club play in Regional 1 North East, a level five league in the English rugby union system and are the most northerly rugby union club in English league rugby, (Berwick RFC play in the Scottish rugby union system). Alnwick regularly field three senior sides, all of which play competitive league and cup rugby. Abertillery Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union club based in Abertillery. According to their website, they were founded in 1883 by a coal miner named Doug Wallace who was a local resident who moved from Scotland in 1882, Wallace was known for his commitment for the club until he died in 1899 and will be remembered as a special part of the club even to do this day. Every year the club celebrates Wallace's life by holding a cross country race with 100s of the locals competing, In the last 10 years Mr Phelps has won the race 10 times and is now the all-time leading winner in the competition, in one year he supposedly ran the race twice before anyone else had crossed the line for the first time.
