"A.I." is a song by American rock band OneRepublic featuring English musician Peter Gabriel. The song serves as the second promotional single and seventh track from the band's fourth studio album '' Oh My My''. It was released September 30, 2016. Background and composition "A.I." was written by band members Ryan Tedder and Brent Kutzle as well as Peter Gabriel and Steve Wilmot. It was produced by Tedder, Kutzle, and Wilmot. The song draws inspiration from the 2001 film ''A.I. Artificial Intelligence''. In an interview with Rob Copsey, Tedder acknowledged that Gabriel rarely did collaborations with other artists and said that the band spent time forming a rapport with Gabriel before they recorded the song, which Tedder described as "a long process". Eddie Ray Fisher (born December 17, 1973) is an American musician and songwriter. He is the drummer for American pop rock band OneRepublic. Eddie grew up in Mission Viejo, California and currently resides in Denver, Colorado, where OneRepublic is based. Fisher joined OneRepublic in 2005, and has been the band's drummer ever since. Chris Gehringer (born May 27, 1962) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered recordings such as Gwen Stefani's '' Love. Angel. Music. Baby.'' (2004), Rihanna's '' Loud'' (2010), Lady Gaga's '' Born This Way'' (2011) and Drake's '' Take Care'' (2011). Biography Gehringer was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and raised in Bergen County. Șerban Ghenea (born October 13, 1969) is a Grammy award-winning Romanian-Canadian audio engineer and mixer. Early life and education Ghenea was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1969. In 1976 he moved to Montreal with his family. He later attended John Abbott College, Concordia University, then McGill University. Andrew John Brown (born January 9, 1984) is an American musician, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He is a guitarist in the bands OneRepublic and Debate Team. Biography and career Drew originated from Broomfield, Colorado. He moved to Los Angeles in 2004, where he formed OneRepublic with vocalist Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins. In January 2011, Brown formed the band Debate Team with OK Go drummer Dan Konopka, Hush Sound guitarist Bob Morris, and vocalist Ryan McNeill. They released an EP that year titled ''Wins Again''.
