Kerala Sahitya Akademi
The Kerala Sahitya Akademi or Academy for Malayalam literature is an autonomous body established to promote the Malayalam language and literature. It is situated in City of Thrissur, Kerala in India. History The academy was inaugurated on 15 October 1956, by Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the former king of Travancore, in Thiruvananthapuram. It was shifted to its present location at City of Thrissur in September, 1957. Though the Kerala Government provides the funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is autonomous according to its constitution. The academy recognises superior literary works through its annual literary awards for Poetry, Novel, Story, Drama, Literary criticism, Biography – autobiography, Travelogue, Humour, Translation, Children's literature etc.. the academy is headed by Malayalam short story writer Vaisakhan, who is serving as its president, Khadija Mumtaz as its vice president, and K P Mohanan as its secretary. Aymanam John
Aymanam John (born 10 April 1953) is a Malayalam–language short-story writer. He hails from Aymanam, a small village in Kerala's Kottayam district which was made famous by Arundhati Roy through her 1997 novel ''The God of Small Things''. Writings John has also written several stories of this village including a collection of memoirs titled ''Ennittumundu Thaamarappoikakal'', where he narrates his native place, the scenic countryside, the people and places and moments that he cherishes. His other famous books include ''Ithara Characharangalude Charitrapusthakam'', ''Christmas Marathinte Veru'' and ''Aymanam Johninte Kathakal'' (which won the 2017 Odakkuzhal Award). Raghunath Paleri
Raghunath Paleri (born 7 February 1954) is an Indian novelist, screenwriter, director and actor from Kerala. Career He has directed three films'' Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare'' (1986), '' Vismayam'' (1998), and ''Kanneerinu Madhuram'' (unreleased); and in television, eight episodes of '' Bible Ki Kahaniya'' (1993–1995). He entered the Malayalam film industry in 1978 and has worked in Tamil film industry. His debut work with the producer Nirmal of Minerva Studio did not release at that time. Later Nirmal produced another film ''Naseema'' which got released in 1983 was written by Paleri. He found his way in acting as Adruman, a blind man, in ''Thottappan'' directed by Shanavas K. Venu (cinematographer)
Venugopal (born 26 August 1961), popularly known as Venu, is an Indian cinematographer and film director who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and CMS college Kottayam. He has been the recipient of four National Film Awards, including three for Best Cinematography and one Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director, and four Kerala State Film Awards. He is a founding member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC). Personal life Venu is the grandson of Malayalam author Karur Neelakanta Pillai. An assault is the act of committing physical harm or unwanted physical contact upon a person or, in some specific legal definitions, a threat or attempt to commit such an action. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in criminal prosecution, civil liability, or both. Generally, the common law definition is the same in criminal and tort law. Traditionally, common law legal systems have separate definitions for assault and battery.
