2020–21 Czech National Football League
The 2020–21 Czech National Football League (known as the ''Fortuna národní liga'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 28th season of the Czech Republic's second tier Association football, football league. The league is being played with 14 clubs due to uneven promotion/relegation with the Czech First League at the end of the previous season. Two matches in the third round of fixtures were postponed due to coronavirus concerns. Eight players from FC Slavoj Vyšehrad, Vyšehrad tested positive, resulting in their match against FC MAS Táborsko, Táborsko having to be played at a later date. Due to players from Vlašim's A, B and junior teams testing positive, their away match against Třinec could not be played on the originally scheduled date either. The Czech National Football League ( cs, Fotbalová národní liga, ''FNL''), currently known as Fortuna národní liga due to sponsorship reasons, is the second level professional association football league in the Czech Republic. Before 2013 it was known as 2. liga or Druhá liga. The top two teams each season are eligible for promotion to the Czech First League. The league replaced the I.ČNL (I. Česká národní liga; First Czech National League), which had been established following the end of the nationwide Czechoslovak Second League in 1977. The league became known as simply ''II. liga'' (Second League) in 1993 following the establishment of the Czech Republic as an independent state. Structure There are 16 clubs in the FNL.
