2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series
The 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in September 2019. It was a tri-nation series between Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Zimbabwe lost their first three matches of the series, therefore, Bangladesh and Afghanistan progressed to the final. No play was possible in the final due to rain, therefore Bangladesh and Afghanistan shared the trophy. Background Originally, the Afghanistan cricket team were scheduled to tour Bangladesh in October 2019 to play one Test and two T20I matches. On 27 June 2019, it was announced that both the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) decided to replace the bi-lateral series with a tri-nation series, with these two teams joined by Zimbabwe. Rahmanullah Gurbaz ( ps, رحمان الله ګربز; born 28 November 2001) is an Afghan cricketer. He made his international debut for Afghanistan in September 2019. Fazal Niazai (born 1 February 1990) is an Afghan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in September 2019. Gulbadin Naib (; born 16 March 1991) is an Afghan cricketer. Naib plays as an all-rounder, and is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. In April 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named Naib as the team's new One Day International (ODI) captain ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, replacing Asghar Afghan. Mohammad Nabi Eisakhil ( ps, ; born 1 January 1985) is an Afghan cricketer and former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team. Nabi is an attacking batting all-rounder, playing as a right-handed batsman and off break bowler. He played a major role in Afghanistan's rise to the top level of international cricket, playing in both their first One Day International in April 2009 and their first Test match in June 2018. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The 2019–20 Singapore Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that was held from 27 September to 3 October 2019 in Singapore. It was a tri-nation series featuring Singapore national cricket team, Singapore, Nepal national cricket team, Nepal and Zimbabwe national cricket team, Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Singapore used the series as preparation for their first appearance in the 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier, ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in October 2019.
