2019 WGC-Mexico Championship
The 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship was a golf tournament played February 21–24 at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Naucalpan, Mexico, just west of Mexico City. It was the 20th time the WGC Championship was played, and the first of the World Golf Championships events to be staged in 2019. The approximate elevation of the course's clubhouse is Dustin Johnson eased to a 5 stroke victory ahead of Rory McIlroy to win his third WGC Championship (second in Mexico), and sixth World Golf Championship overall. Although the victory did not immediately return Johnson to world number one, he and the current number one (Justin Rose) were not competing in the following week, which meant he was guaranteed to return to top spot a week later. Naucalpan
Naucalpan, officially Naucalpan de Juárez, is one of 125 municipalities located just northwest of Mexico City in the adjoining State of Mexico. The municipal seat is the city of Naucalpan de Juárez, which extends into the neighboring municipality of Huixquilucan. The name Naucalpan comes from Nahuatl and means "place of the four neighborhoods" or "four houses." Juárez was added to the official name in 1874 in honor of Benito Juárez. The history of the area begins with the Tlatilica who settled on the edges of the Hondo River between 1700 and 600 B.C.E., but it was the Mexica who gave it its current name when they dominated it from the 15th century until the Spanish conquest of the Mexica Empire. Milton Pouha "Tony" Finau (born September 14, 1989) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Early life and amateur career Milton Pouha Finau was born on September 14, 1989 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bryson James Aldrich DeChambeau (born September 16, 1993) is an American professional golfer. He has won eight times on the PGA Tour including one major championship, the 2020 U.S. Open. Rafael Cabrera-Bello (born 25 May 1984) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, where he has won four times. He has also played on the PGA Tour. Justin Peter Rose, (born 30 July 1980) is an English professional golfer who plays most of his golf on the PGA Tour, while keeping his membership on the European Tour.
