2019 Moto2 Season
The 2019 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 71st F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Francesco Bagnaia was the reigning series champion but he was unable to defend his title as he joined the series' premier class, the MotoGP. The season saw the introduction of a new engine package. The Honda CBR600RR inline-4 engine package, which was used since the inaugural season of Moto2 in 2010, was replaced by a inline-3 engine manufacturered by Triumph Motorcycles. It is based on the engine of the Triumph Street Triple RS 765. Due to availability constraints on the new Moto2 2019 engine, and the fact that there will be no machines of this specification in other championships, teams agreed to halt Moto2 wildcard entries for 2019. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. Mattia Pasini
Mattia Pasini (born 13 August 1985) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Career Early career Born in Rimini, Pasini participated in his first race at the age of 9. 125cc World Championship After several successful years in the Italian and European championships, he made his 125cc world championship debut in 2004 as the teammate of Roberto Locatelli. He finished his first season in the 15th place overall, and earned the rookie of the year award. His best results were a 3rd place in Qualifying and a 7th place in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The following year Pasini was running in the lead in most of the races and won the Chinese and Catalan Grands Prix. He finished the season in fourth place overall. In 2006 Pasini finished fourth overall once again, having won the Italian Grand Prix and the German Grand Prix. Samuel Deane Lowes (born 14 September 1990) is a British motorcycle racer competing in the Moto2 World Championship aboard a Kalex since 2019, and is part of the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. Marcel Schrötter (born 2 January 1993) is a German motorcycle racer. Born in Vilgertshofen, Schrötter started out in the German 125cc National Championship in 2007 and finished fifth in his debut campaign, before he took back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009.
