ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Lana Petranović
Lana Petranović (born 4 January 2000) is a Croatian pair skater. With her skating partner, Antonio Souza-Kordeiru, she has competed in the final segment at four European Championships. Skating career Early years Petranović began learning to skate in 2007. As a singles skater, she appeared at one ISU Junior Grand Prix event, in October 2014. She last competed in singles in January 2015, at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Dornbirn, Austria. Petranović decided to switch to pair skating and formed a partnership with Michael Lueck. The pair trained in the United States. They made their international debut in September 2015, at the Lombardia Trophy in Italy, and competed at six other competitions, including three ISU Challenger Series events, before parting ways. Zhu Yi (; born Beverly Zhu on September 19, 2002) is an American figure skater based on China who competes in women's singles. She has competed in the final segment at two ISU Championships, placing 13th at the 2020 Four Continents Championships and 22nd at 2020 World Junior Championships. She won the 2018 U.S. national novice title before representing China internationally. Personal life Zhu was born on September 19, 2002, in Westwood, Los Angeles, California, United States.
