The 2018–19 season was Newcastle United's second season back in the Premier League following their promotion from the 2016–17 EFL Championship and their 24th year in the Premier League. Frederick John Woodman (born 4 March 1997) is an English professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for EFL Championship club Preston North End F.C., Preston North End. Woodman started his career at Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace before moving to the academy setup at Newcastle United F.C. Reserves and Academy, Newcastle United in 2013. Karl Darlow (born 8 October 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Newcastle United. He is the grandson of former Wales international forward Ken Leek who was included in the Welsh 1958 World Cup squad. Darlow is a product of the Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest academies and spent time on loan at both Newport County and Walsall earlier in his career. Martin Dúbravka
Martin Dúbravka (born 15 January 1989) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Newcastle United and the Slovakia national team. After playing in the top flights of Slovak, Danish and Czech football, Dúbravka joined English club Newcastle United in January 2018, initially on loan. He won the club's Player of the Year award in the 2019–20 season. He spent part of the 2022–23 season on loan at Manchester United, playing twice in their EFL Cup-winning campaign. In many team sports which involve scoring goals, the goalkeeper (sometimes termed goaltender, netminder, GK, goalie or keeper) is a designated player charged with directly preventing the opposing team from scoring by blocking or intercepting opposing shots on goal. Greenwich
Greenwich ( , ,) is a town in south-east London, England, within the ceremonial county of Greater London. It is situated east-southeast of Charing Cross. Robert Elliot (born 30 April 1986) is a professional footballer who is currently a technical director and goalkeeper for Gateshead. Elliot also played for the Republic of Ireland national team. Elliot began his career with Erith Town, before joining Charlton Athletic's academy side. Simon Timothy Gordon Smith (born 16 September 1962) is an English former footballer who previously worked as the head goalkeeping coach for Newcastle United. Playing career Smith began his professional career with Newcastle United in 1978, spending four years there before moving on to Whitley Bay and then Gateshead, where he played 501 games, including a run of 405 games in a row, over a ten-year period.
