2018 Negeri Sembilan State Election
The 14th Negeri Sembilan State election was held on 9 May 2018, to elect the State Assemblymen of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each. The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on 7 April 2018 by the Head of State (Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan) on the advice of the Head of Government (Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan). The election was held concurrently with the 2018 Malaysian general election. In a historic result, Barisan Nasional (BN), the ruling coalition was ousted from power by Pakatan Harapan (PH). Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly
The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Sembilan) is the state legislature of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. It consists of 36 members who represent single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart, and are usually conducted simultaneously with elections to the federal parliament and other state assemblies (except Sarawak). It is unicameral. The Malaysian United Indigenous Party ( ms, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia), abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The Democratic Action Party (abbreviation: DAP; ms, Parti Tindakan Demokratik; ; ta, ஜனநாயக செயல் கட்சி) is a centre-left social democratic political party in Malaysia. 2018 Malaysian General Election
The 2018 Malaysian General Election, formally known as the 14th Malaysian General Election (), was held on Wednesday, 9 May 2018, for members of the 14th Parliament of Malaysia. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat (the legislature's lower house) and 505 seats in 12 out of the 13 state legislative assemblies of Malaysia.
