2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup
The 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup or the XXVIII U-18 Baseball World Cup was an international baseball tournament held by the World Baseball Softball Confederation for players 18-year-old and younger. The 2017 edition was held in Thunder Bay, Canada from September 1–10, 2017. Format First Round: The twelve participating nations were drawn into two groups of 6, in which single round robin will occur. The top 3 nations from each group advances to the Super Round, while the bottom 3 nations from each group advance to the Consolation Round. Consolation Round: The 6 nations in this round play one game against the teams they have not played yet. (example: The 4th placed team from Group A will play the bottom three teams from Group B) Super Round: The format in the Super Round is similar to that of the Consolation Round. Triston Casas
Triston Casas (born January 15, 2000) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Red Sox selected him in the first round of the 2018 MLB draft and he made his MLB debut in 2022. Casas was a member of the United States national baseball team at the 2020 Summer Olympics, which won the silver medal. Amateur career Casas played high school baseball at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he played both corner infield positions. Carter Isaak Young (born January 24, 2001) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Baltimore Orioles organization. Amateur career Young began playing baseball as a child and began switch hitting at age ten after former MLB player Jay Gainer suggested it to him. He attended Selah High School in Selah, Washington. As a freshman in 2016, he helped Selah win their first ever state championship. Amateur career Wilcox attended Heritage High School in Ringgold, Georgia, where he played baseball, basketball, and football.
