2016–17 Serbian SuperLiga
The 2016–17 Serbian SuperLiga was the eleventh season of the Serbian SuperLiga since its establishment. Red Star are the defending champions. The fixtures were announced on 15 June 2016. Red Star Belgrade drew the highest average home attendance of the league (9,056). Teams The league consisted of 16 teams: fourteen teams from the 2015–16 Serbian SuperLiga and two new teams from the 2015–16 Serbian First League. Napredak Kruševac, the 2015–16 First League champion, joined the top level two years after being relegated. Runners-up Bačka joined SuperLiga for the first time in history. The Serbian Super League ( sr, Супер лига Србије / Super liga Srbije), referred to as the Mozzart Bet Super League ( sr, Моцарт Бет Супер лига / Mozzart Bet Super liga) for sponsorship reasons, is a Serbian professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Serbian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is usually contested by 16 clubs, but the 2020-21 season was contested by 20 clubs, because the Football Association of Serbia restructured the league due to the COVID-19 pandemic, operating a system of promotion and relegation with Serbian First League, the second tier in the Serbian football pyramid. The SuperLiga was formed during the summer of 2005 as the country's top football league competition in Serbia and Montenegro. 2015–16 Serbian First League The Serbian First League (Serbian: Prva liga Srbije) is the second-highest football league in Serbia. The league is operated by the Serbian FA. 16 teams compete in the league for the 2015–16 season. Two teams were promoted to the Serbian SuperLiga. Four teams were relegated to the Serbian League, the third-highest division overall in the Serbian football league system. Milorad Kosanović
Milorad Kosanović ( sr-Cyrl, Милорад Косановић, ; born 4 January 1951) is a Serbian former football player and manager. During his playing career, Kosanović represented Proleter Zrenjanin, Vojvodina, Kikinda and Novi Sad, competing in the Yugoslav First and Second League. Afterwards, Kosanović was manager of numerous clubs in his country and abroad, having his most successful period with Chinese club Dalian Shide. Veseljko Trivunović
Veseljko Trivunović (; born 13 January 1980) is a Serbian football manager and player. Club career Trivunović came through the youth system of Red Star Belgrade, but failed to make his official first team debut. He instead went on loans to several domestic clubs. After his contract expired in 2005, Trivunović joined ČSK Čelarevo, displaying performances that would secure him a move to newly promoted Serbian SuperLiga side Mladost Apatin in 2006. He subsequently spent two seasons at both Vojvodina and OFK Beograd, before moving abroad in 2011. Following a season in Azerbaijan, Trivunović returned to OFK Beograd in 2012. He also played for Spartak Subotica before joining OFK Bačka in 2014. During his four and a half seasons with the club, Trivunović helped them earn promotion to the Serbian SuperLiga for the first time ever in 2016. Fudbalski klub Spartak Ždrepčeva Krv () is a professional football club from Subotica, Serbia, that plays in the Serbian SuperLiga. The club was founded in 1945 and was named after Jovan Mikić Spartak, the leader of the Partisans in Subotica, who was a national hero and was killed in 1944. FK Radnik Surdulica () is a professional football club based in Surdulica, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian SuperLiga, the top tier of the national league system. History The club was founded as Surdulički sportski klub (SSK) in 1926 on the initiative of Gradimir Antić, a local shoemaker, who brought the first football ball to Surdulica. They stopped operating with the onset of World War II and Axis occupation of Serbia. In 1946, the club was reestablished as FK Polet on the initiative of Borivoje Milenković and Božidar Stanković. Fudbalski klub Radnički (), commonly known as Radnički Niš ( sr-cyr, Раднички Ниш), is a professional football club based in ok Niš, Serbia. Its name means ''Labourers'' in Serbian and stems from the relationship with the Labour movement which the club had during the first half of the 20th century. Radnički Niš was one of the most stable clubs in the former Yugoslavia.
