2016 MLS SuperDraft
The 2016 MLS SuperDraft was the seventeenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held each year in conjunction with the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention. The 2016 convention was held in Baltimore, Maryland. The first two rounds of the 2016 SuperDraft were held on January 14, 2016. Rounds three and four were held via conference call on January 19, 2016. Format The SuperDraft format has remained constant throughout its history and closely resembles that of the NFL Draft: #Any expansion teams receive the first picks. #Non-playoff clubs receive the next picks in reverse order of prior season finish. #Teams that made the MLS Cup Playoffs are then ordered by which round of the playoffs they are eliminated. #The winners of the MLS Cup are given the last selection, and the losers the penultimate selection. The Philadelphia Union are an American professional soccer club based in Chester, Pennsylvania. The Union compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Founded on February 28, 2008, the club began playing in 2010 as an expansion team. Real Salt Lake, often shortened to RSL, is an American professional soccer franchise based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The club competes as a member club of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the Western Conference. RSL began play in 2005 as an expansion team of the league. The club was founded in 2004 when the club's first owner and founder was awarded an expansion berth in Major League Soccer. Portland Timbers U23s
Capital FC is an American soccer team based in Salem, Oregon, United States. Although founded in 2008 as part of the development system for the Portland Timbers USSF D2 organization, beginning in 2011 they were part of the development system for the Major League Soccer franchise of the same name until 2022. The Stanford Cardinal men's soccer team represents Stanford University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Cardinal play in the Pac-12 Conference. Their first season as a varsity program was in 1973. Brandon Vincent (born May 1, 1994) is a former American professional soccer player who played as a defender for the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer. Vincent grew up playing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy for Real So Cal. Keegan Rosenberry (born December 11, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a right-back for Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids. Baltimore Bohemians were an American soccer club based in Baltimore. They competed in the USL Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, between 2012 and 2016.
