The 2016 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup, FIBA Africa Basketball Club Championship (31st edition), was an international basketball tournament held in Cairo, Egypt from December 7 to 16, 2016. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Al Ahly (basketball), Al Ahly was contested by 10 clubs split into 2 groups of five, the top four of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage, quarter, semi-finals and final. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto was contested by 11 clubs split into 2 groups of six and five, the top four of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage, quarter, semi-finals and final. City Oilers is a basketball club based in Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda. The team competes in the Ugandan National Basketball League (Uganda), National Basketball League (NBL), where it has won eight championships, the most in league history. The Oilers play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in the 2023 season. History The club was founded by a group of friends who decided to play basketball together. They started playing pick-up games at courts in Kampala, with former national league players joining. Later, Justus Mugisha became head coach and suggested the team joined a basketball league. Kyle Vinales (born June 18, 1992) () is an American basketball player for Legia Warszawa of the Polish Basketball League. He previously competed for the Central Connecticut Blue Devils men's basketball team. Ejike Christopher Ugboaja (born 28 May 1985) is a Nigerian professional basketball player who last played for BC Mark Mentors of the Nigerian Premier Basketball League (NPBL).
