2014–15 Ascenso MX Season
The 2014–15 Ascenso MX season began July 18, 2014 and is divided into two tournaments named Apertura 2014 and Clausura 2015. The Ascenso MX is the second-tier football league of Mexico. Changes from the previous season * U. de G. were promoted to Liga MX. * Atlante F.C. were relegated from Liga MX. * Zacatepec 1948 were relegated to Segunda División de México, but was able to purchase Cruz Azul Hidalgo's spot to remain in Ascenso MX and was rebranded Zacatepec Siglo XXI. Cruz Azul Hidalgo was dissolved. * Coras F.C. was promoted from Segunda División de México. * Estudiantes Tecos was moved to Zacatecas and rebranded to Mineros de Zacatecas by owner Grupo Pachuca. * Ballenas Galeana was rebranded to Irapuato since they moved to Irapuato, Guanajuato. * Delfines F.C. dissolved in May 2014. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX was the second tier of professional football in Mexico of the Mexican football league system. The champion of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top-flight tier). The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (the third tier). It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX. Formerly known as Primera División A (First Division A) the league rebranded in 2009 its name and competition format to Liga de Ascenso. It was rebranded in 2012 as Ascenso MX. The major changes: clubs do not need a FMF certification to be promoted and that the competition no longer used group stages. Ascenso MX was replaced by Liga de Expansión MX on April 17, 2020. Club Universidad De Guadalajara
Club Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara, also known as Leones Negros, Leones Negros UdeG, Universidad de Guadalajara, or UdeG, is a football club that currently plays in the Liga de Expansión MX. Estadio Altamira
Estadio Altamira is the current stadium for the team Estudiantes de Altamira, which plays in the Liga de Ascenso. The stadium, which seats 9,581 people, is located in the port city of Altamira Municipality, Tamaulipas, Altamira in the state of Tamaulipas. History The idea of constructing Estadio Altamira (initially called ''Estadio Deportivo Sur de Tamaulipas''), was the initiative of the founder of the club, Enrique de Hita Yibale. The effort was done as a whole, along with the State and Municipal Authorities; and the Office of Urban Development of the Industrial Port of Altamira. Altamira (Tamaulipas)
Altamira is a municipality in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located immediately to the north of the municipalities of Tampico and Ciudad Madero, at the southern tip of the state of Tamaulipas, on the Gulf of Mexico. Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla were a Mexican football club based in Puebla, Mexico. The club represented the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. The club's history goes back to the early 1930s when it was known as Preparatoria, formed exclusively by players who attended the university. The club has played on and off since then. Club de Fútbol Correcaminos de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, simply known as Correcaminos UAT, is a Mexican professional football club based in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. Alebrijes de Oaxaca Fútbol Club is a Mexican football team based in the city of Oaxaca, state of Oaxaca. They play in the second tier of Mexican football league, Liga de Expansión MX. The team was created when the Tecamachalco franchise won the Segunda División title and earned the promotion to the Ascenso MX. Due to poor infrastructure they were unable to participate, which led to the formation of the new Oaxaca franchise. History In the team's search for a new venue, the owners of the Tecamachalco franchise received support from the Oaxacan state government. They also received support from a group of businessmen led by Carlos Ojeda of Laredo, who wanted to bring professional football back to the state of Oaxaca. Club de Fútbol Ballenas Galeana Morelos was a Mexican football club that played in the Tercera División de México. The club was based in Xochitepec, Morelos. History The club was founded in 1956 by Donato Rodríguez who constructed a small field between the streets Hermenegildo Galeana in downtown of Cuernavaca Morelos because the majority of the players lived in that area. That club played in that ground from 1956-1968. Estudiantes Tecos
Tecos Fútbol Club (often referred to by its nickname "Tecos") is a Mexican professional football club associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara AC. It plays its home games in the ''Estadio 3 de Marzo'' (March 3 Stadium, named for the day the university was founded in 1935). The 30,015-seat facility is located in Zapopan, a municipality within the Guadalajara, Jalisco conurbation.
