2014 PSL Grand Prix Conference
The 2014 PSL Grand Prix was the second tournament of the Philippine Super Liga for its 2014 season. The tournament ran from October 18, 2014 to November 30, 2014. The tournament's major sponsor was Asics. FIVB Referees Commission director Mohammed Hassan was the guest of honor of the opening ceremony held in Smart-Araneta Coliseum. For this tournament, several teams took leave from the league, due to their participation in the Reinforced Open Conference (Season 11) of the Shakey's V-League, which coincided with the tournament - namely, the Philippine Army Lady Troopers (defending women's division champion), the Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns, the PLDT Home TVolution Power Attackers and the Instituto Estetico Manila Phoenix Volley Masters. PLDT MyDSL Speed Boosters
The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters (formerly, PLDT Volleyball Club) is a professional men's volleyball team owned by PLDT. It was established in 2013 and originally consisted of men's and women's teams. In 2018, the women's team became merged with the Smart Giga Hitters (later renamed PLDT Home Fibr Hitters women's team). The men's team has been playing in the Spikers' Turf since October 2018. History The club debuted in 2013 as the PLDT myDSL Speed Boosters women's team in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) during the 2013 Invitational Conference. The men's team debuted in the following conference. In 2014, while participating in the PSL, the club joined in the Shakey's V-League with its women's team as the PLDT Home Telpad Turbo Boosters during the 2014 Open Conference. Philippine Army Lady Troopers
The Philippine Army Lady Troopers, also known as the Black Mamba–Army Lady Troopers for sponsorship reasons, is the official women's professional volleyball team of the Philippine Army. The team is composed of enlisted personnel and reinforced with civilian players from time to time. The Lady Troopers competes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and has won two Shakey's V-League (predecessor of the PVL) championships. History The Lady Troopers were the first champion in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), winning all two conferences of the inaugural season. The team played in the PSL in partnership with various corporate sponsors. Sinfronio "Sammy" Acaylar () is a Filipino volleyball coach. Career Club Acaylar has coached the Cignal HD Spikers women's team of the Philippine Super Liga helping them finish as runners-up twice in their first season in 2013. He would join the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, who were newcomers in the 2017 season. The Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, previously the AVC Cup Men's Club Tournament (between 1999–2002), is an annual continental club volleyball competition organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continental governing body. The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors were a professional women's volleyball team that played in the Premier Volleyball League.
