2014 CAF Super Cup
The 2014 CAF Super Cup (also known as the 2014 Orange CAF Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 22nd CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was played between Al-Ahly of Egypt, the 2013 CAF Champions League winner, and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, the 2013 CAF Confederation Cup winner. It was hosted by Al-Ahly at the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo on 20 February 2014. The match was initially scheduled to be played at the Cairo International Stadium on 22 February 2014. Later, the CAF announced a change of venue and date, with the match scheduled to be played at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on 20 February 2014. 30 June Stadium
The 30 June Stadium is a stadium used mostly for football matches and also sometimes for athletics located in Cairo. It was built by the Egyptian Air Defense Forces. The stadium is the main venue of the Air Defense Sport Village. The stadium has a capacity of 30,000 and it is one of the venues of the Egyptian Premier League. It is the home ground of the Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids F.C. Sherif Ekramy
Sherif Ekramy Ahmed Ahmed El-Shahat ( ar, شريف إكرامي; born 10 July 1983) is an Egyptian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Pyramids FC and the Egyptian national team. An Al Ahly youth product, Ekramy moved to Dutch club Feyenoord in 2005. At Feyenoord he received little playing time and was loaned to Ankaragücü in 2008. After four years at Feyenoord he returned to Egypt signing with El Gouna FC, whom he helped win promotion to the top flight for the 2009–10 season. Fakhreddine Ben Youssef ( ar, فخر الدين بن يوسف; born 23 June 1991) is a Tunisian footballer who plays as a striker for Egyptian Premier League club Al-Masry and the Tunisia national team. Ali Maâloul ( ar, عَلِيّ مَعْلُول; born 1 January 1990) is a Tunisian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Al Ahly and the Tunisia national team. Club career Maâloul started his career with hometown club CS Sfaxien and became their captain from the 2014–15 season. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. The 2008 CAF Super Cup was the 16th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was contested by 2007 CAF Champions League winners, ES Sahel, and 2007 CAF Confederation Cup winners, CS Sfaxien at the Stade 14 January in Tunis on 23 February 2008. 2009 CAF Super Cup
The 2009 CAF Super Cup was the 17th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was contested by 2008 CAF Champions League winners, Al-Ahly, and 2008 CAF Confederation Cup winners, CS Sfaxien at the International Stadium in Cairo on 6 February 2009. Al-Ahly won the match 2–1, with two goals from Angolan striker Flávio, and won the title for the record fourth time (having won the Super Cup in 2002, 2006 and 2007), all of them under the management of Manuel José. The 2007 CAF Super Cup was the 15th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the African Cup of Champions Clubs and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match took place on 18 February 2007, on neutral stadium at Addis Ababa Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, celebrating the CAF's 50th anniversary, between Al Ahly, the 2006 CAF Champions League winner, and ES Sahel, the 2006 CAF Confederation Cup winner.
