The 2012 ACC Trophy Elite is a cricket tournament in UAE, taking place between 3 and 12 October 2012. It gives Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international Limited overs cricket, one-day cricket and also helps form an essential part of regional rankings. This was the final ACC Trophy tournament as ACC split two-tier ACC Trophy into three-tier round robin ACC Premier League starting from 2014. The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Afsar Khan Zazai ( ps, افسر ځاځی; born 10 August 1993) is an Afghan cricketer. Afsar is a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman who is known for his batting skills. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first ever Test match, against India, in June 2018. He is the first Test cap for Afghanistan. Tshering Dorji aka ''Tshagay'' (born 11 September 1995) is a Bhutanese professional footballer who plays for Thimphu City FC as a midfielder. Shapoor Zadran ( ps, ; born 8 July 1987) is an Afghan cricketer. Zadran is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Zadran currently plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Mohammad Asghar Afghan ( ps, محمد اصغر افغان), is a former Afghan cricketer and former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team. Asghar is a right-handed batsman and a medium-fast bowler.
