Ethiopian Premier League
The Ethiopian Premier League (Amharic:የኢትዮጵያ ፕሪምየር ሊግ), known as the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the top tier association football league of Ethiopia run by the Ethiopian Premier League Share Company (formerly the Ethiopian Football Federation from 1997 to 2020). Established in 1997 (1990 E.C.), it replaced the former first division (est. 1944). Contested by sixteen clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the other secondary and tertiary leagues in Ethiopia. The league has been an annual competition since the 1997–98 season with Saint George S.C. emerging as the country's leading club in this era with 15 titles (30 first division titles overall). Ethio Electric Sport Club (Amharic: ኢትዮ ኤሌክትሪክ ስፖርት ክለብ), also known as EEPCO or Mebrat Hail, is an Ethiopian football club based in Addis Ababa. The club currently plays in the Ethiopian Higher League, the second division of Ethiopian football. 2014 CAF Confederation Cup
The 2014 CAF Confederation Cup (also known as the 2014 Orange CAF Confederation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 11th edition of the CAF Confederation Cup, Africa's secondary club football competition organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The defending champions CS Sfaxien did not enter the tournament as they qualified for the 2014 CAF Champions League and reached the group stage. Harar City Football Club (Amharic: ሐረር ከተማ እግር ኳስ ክለብ) is a professional Ethiopian football club based in Harar. They are a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and play in the Ethiopian First League, the third division of Ethiopian football. History The club was founded and originally operated by Harar Brewary as Harar Beer F.C. The club enjoyed a 12 year stay in the Ethiopian Premier League before being relegated after the 2013-14 season. Sidama Coffee Sport Club (Amharic: ሲዳማ ቡና ስፖርት ክለብ, Sidama Buna Sport Club), also known as Dara kenema, is a professional football Club based in Sidama Municipality of Ethiopia. The club plays in the Ethiopian Premier League, the top division of Ethiopian football. History Sidama Coffee Soccer Club was founded on August 27, 2006 (1999 E.C.) as Dara Kenema. It was one of three clubs representing Formerly Sidama Zone in the South regional championships in 2006. Afterwards Dara kenema was able to advance to the championships for all regional teams from Ethiopia held in Hawassa that same year. Dara Kenema was finished in the top four of this tournament and by virtue enter the second division of Ethiopian football, the Higher League.
