2010 Acropolis International Basketball Tournament
The Acropolis International Tournament 2010 was a basketball tournament held in OAKA Indoor Hall in Athens, Greece, from August 17 until August 19, 2010. This was the 24th edition of the Acropolis International Basketball Tournament. The four participating teams were Greece, Serbia, Canada, and Slovenia. Since each team had won one of the two games with the other teams (excluding Greece, who had a 3–0 record), a second tiebreaker was used to determine the second, third, and fourth place. Compared among the other tied teams, Slovenia had an overall 14 point difference, Serbia had a -3 point difference and Canada had a -11 point difference. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. As a result, the group stage games were played in four cities, and the knockout round was hosted by Istanbul. The United States won the tournament for their fourth time after going undefeated in the Opening Round and beating host Turkey in the final. Ioannis Bourousis
Giannis Bourousis (Greek: Γιάννης Μπουρούσης; born November 17, 1983) is a former Greek professional basketball player who last played for ASK Karditsa of the Greek A2 Basket League. He is a 7 ft 0.75 in (2.15 m) 270 lb (122 kg) tall center. A two-time All-EuroLeague First Team selection, Bourousis has been compared to FIBA Hall of Fame center Vlade Divac by San Antonio Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich. Novica Veličković ( sr-cyr, Новица Величковић; born 5 October 1986) is a Serbian former professional basketball player who is the team manager for Mega Basket of the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA League. Miloš Teodosić ( sr-cyr, Милош Теодосић, born March 19, 1987) is a Serbian professional basketball player for Virtus Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroLeague.
