2009–10 ICC Intercontinental Cup
The 2009–10 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the fifth edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup tournament, an international first-class cricket competition between nations who had not been awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council. The first fixtures were played in July 2009. The format was changed since the previous edition, with a two division system being introduced. The 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier also served as a qualifier for this tournament. The top six teams from the qualifier, along with a Zimbabwe XI, would compete in a round robin top division. The teams ranked 7th–10th in the competition would contest the ICC Intercontinental Shield. International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the world governing body of cricket. Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, its members are 108 national associations, with 12 Full Members and 96 Associate Members. Founded in 1909 as the ''Imperial Cricket Conference'', it was renamed the ''International Cricket Conference'' in 1965, and took up its current name in 1987. Jan Stander
Jan Hendrik Stander (born 4 January 1982) is a cricketer who represents Scotland. An all-rounder, Stander bats right handed and bowls right arm medium-fast. He was a member of the Scotland squad for the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier, during which he made his debut in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He has also played first-class and List A cricket for Scotland. Career Stander moved to Scotland from his native South Africa in 2003. He began playing for Aberdeenshire Cricket Club that year, and remained with the club until 2006. By 2007 Stander was a cricket development officer for the Grampian region. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Andrew White (cricketer, Born 1980)
Andrew Roland White (born 3 July 1980) is a former Irish cricketer. He played in the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, where Ireland reached the Super 8 stage. He is now a P.E. teacher in Grosvenor Grammar school. Andrew is currently the Free Kicks coach at Ards Football Club. Playing career He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He played for Northamptonshire, and with Ireland. He also lined up for the Irish Under-19s squad between 1999 and 2000. Declaration And Forfeiture
In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. Declaration and forfeiture are covered in Law 15 of the ''Laws of Cricket''. This concept applies only to matches in which each team is scheduled to bat in two innings; Law 15 specifically does not apply in any form of limited overs cricket. Regan West
Regan West (born 27 April 1979) is a former New Zealand-born Irish cricketer. He played for the Central Districts and the Wellington in the State Championship in New Zealand. He bowled left-arm, either fast-medium or slow left arm orthodox, batted left-handed. Despite being born in New Zealand, West qualified to play for Ireland in late 2008 and made his first appearance for the team the same year. James Kabatha Kamande (born 12 December 1978) is a former Kenyan cricketer and former limited over captain. He is a right-handed batsman and an off break bowler. International career Kamande made his One Day International debut for Kenya in the 1999 World Cup in England. Paul Robert Stirling (born 3 September 1990) is an Irish cricketer. Stirling is the opening batsman for the Ireland cricket team and an occasional right arm off break bowler.
