2009 Miami Dolphins Season
The 2009 Miami Dolphins season was the franchise's 40th season in the National Football League, the 44th overall and the second under head coach Tony Sparano. The Dolphins entered the 2009 season as the reigning AFC East champions after posting an 11–5 record in 2008. Dropping by four more games, the Dolphins failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2007, marking the 25th consecutive year that the region hosting the Super Bowl did not see its host team play in, thus it set off a playoff drought that lasted until 2016. The American Football Conference – Eastern Division or AFC East is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans. Tearrius George (born December 3, 1982) is a former gridiron football defensive end who played for the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at Kansas State. Will Allen (cornerback)
Will D. Allen (born August 5, 1978) is a former American football cornerback. Allen played college football at Syracuse. He was drafted in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Allen has also played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Early years Allen attended Corcoran High School in his hometown of Syracuse, New York, where he excelled in football and track. He only played two years of varsity football, both at cornerback, but he managed to collect a career total of 17 interceptions, including a school-record 11 as a senior. Lousaka Romon Polite (born September 14, 1981) is a former American football fullback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. Lex Douglas Hilliard (born July 30, 1984) is a former American football running back and fullback. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Montana. Hilliard was one of the largest victims of professional scam artist/fraudster Peggy Ann Fulford. Early years Hilliard attended and played high school football at Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana. During his sophomore year, he set a school record with 1,384 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
