2006–07 Liga II
The 2006–07 Liga II was the 67th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The name of the leagues in Romania was changed started with this season. (Divizia A was renamed as Liga I, Divizia B as Liga II, Divizia C as Liga III, Divizia D as Liga IV). The format has been changed from three series of 16 teams to two series, each of them consisting of 18 teams. The top two teams from each series were promoted at the end of the season to the Liga I, while the bottom four were relegated to the Liga III. Liga II
The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07. It is currently sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. The teams placed from 7th to 12th will play a relegation play-off, where the last two teams are relegated to Liga III. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season. Asociația Club de Fotbal Gloria Bistrița (), commonly known as Gloria Bistrița, or simply as Gloria, was a Romanian professional association football, football football team, club based in Bistrița, Bistrița-Năsăud County founded on 6 July 1922 and dissolved in 2015. 2006–07 Liga III
The 2006–07 Liga III season was the 51st season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. It was the first in this format (six series of 18 teams each). The winners of each division got promoted to the 2007–08 Liga II season. There were also two playoff tournaments held at neutral venues involving the second placed teams, one with those from series 1, 2 and 3, the other with those from series 4, 5, and 6. The winners of the playoffs also got promoted to the 2007–08 Liga II season. The bottom three from each division were relegated at the end of the season to the county football leagues (Liga IV). From the 15th placed teams, another three were relegated. To determine these teams, separate standings were computed, using only the games played against clubs ranked 1st through 14th. Asociația Sportivă a Suporterilor FCM 1950 Bacău, commonly known as ASS FCM 1950 Bacău, FCM 1950 Bacău or simply as FCM Bacău, is a Romanian football club based in Bacău, Bacău County. Founded in 1950 as ''Dinamo Bacău'', the club from Moldavia spent 42 seasons in the top-flight of the Romanian football, winning a Romanian League Cup and qualifying for European competitions such as Cup Winners' Cup or 2 times. In the early 2010s, the club entered in a shadowy cone, due to the conflict between the team's owner, Dumitru Sechelariu (former mayor of Bacău) and the newly elected mayor, who chose to retire the public financing of the team and to sustain SC Bacău. FC Sportul Studențesc București
FC Sportul Studențesc, commonly referred to as Sportul is a Romanian professional association football, football club based in Bucharest, that last played at senior level in the Liga IV. Founded in 1916, Sportul Studențesc was one of the oldest Romanian clubs still active. The club's best European performance came in the 1979–80 Balkans Cup, when it won the trophy, defeating Yugoslavian side NK Rijeka in the final. The club made it to the Balkans Cup final on one other occasion, in 1976 Balkans Cup, 1976, when it lost to another Yugoslavian side, Dinamo Zagreb. The 2005–06 Divizia A was the eighty-eighth season of Divizia A, the top-level football league of Romania. Season began in August 2005 and ended in June 2006.
