The 2002–03 Lega Basket Serie A, known as the Foxy Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 81st season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season ran from 22 September 2002 to 3 May 2003, the playoffs ran from 7 May 2003 to 17 June 2003. Napoli Basket, known for sponsorship reasons as GeVi Napoli, is an Italian professional basketball team of the city of Naples. It's the ''de facto'' successor of the Basket Napoli which was dissolved in 2009. The team has achieved the promotion to the Serie A after the end of the 2020–21 season of the Serie A2 Basket. Carlton Ettore Francesco Myers (born 30 March 1971) is an Italian former professional basketball player that played in the Italian league and the EuroLeague. Myers was initially raised in the United Kingdom. One of the best European shooting guards of his generation, he won a EuroBasket title with the senior Italian national team in 1999. Alphonso Gene Ford (October 31, 1971 – September 4, 2004) was an American professional basketball player. A 1.92 m (6 ft 3 in) tall, 98 kg (216 lbs.) shooting guard, he was one of the greatest scorers in college basketball history. After a short stint in the NBA, he played professionally in Europe. Jamel Thomas (born July 19, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a guard/ forward. Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York. He played collegiately for Providence College. Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation.
