It lists some important events in the history of television, as well as the first broadcasts of many television shows, and the launches of some television channels and networks. 1870s * 1876: Alexander Graham Bell invents the telephone. * 1877: Bell Telephone Company is founded. 1920s * 1922: Charles Francis Jenkins' first public demonstration of television principles.
