28th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade
The 371st Sustainment Brigade is an Ohio Army National Guard Sustainment Brigade located at the Springfield–Beckley Municipal Airport in Springfield, Ohio. The Brigade includes the 371st Special Troops Battalion (Newark, Ohio) and the 112th Transportation Battalion (North Canton, Ohio) and is assigned to the 28th Infantry Division. Creation The 371st Sustainment Brigade's parent unit was created 29 August 1917 as the 62d Field Artillery Brigade, an element of the 37th Division at Camp Sheridan, Alabama. The 62d Field Artillery Brigade included the 134th Field Artillery Regiment, 135th Field Artillery Regiment, 136th Field Artillery Regiment, and the 112th Trench Mortar Battery. Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
Shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) are distinctive cloth patches worn on the left sleeve of the United States Army uniform just below the shoulder seam by soldiers assigned to divisions, corps, armies, and other specifically authorized organizations. They are also worn on the right sleeve by soldiers to indicate former overseas service with certain units during periods of U.S. military operations in hostile conditions (MOHC). Versions Colored Shoulder sleeve insignia were often designed with intricate designs including bright colors, when created. Because these bright colors and designs risk standing out when a soldier is in combat or in hiding, the shoulder sleeve insignia in its color form was commonly only worn on the dress uniform or service uniform when a soldier was not in combat. 33rd Infantry Division (United States)
The 33rd Infantry Division was a formation of the U.S. Army National Guard between 1917 and 1968. Originally formed for service during World War I, the division fought along the Western Front during the Battle of Amiens, the Battle of Hamel, the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, at the Second Battle of the Somme, and at the Battle of Saint-Mihiel. It was re-formed during the inter-war period, and then later activated for service during World War II, seeing action against the Imperial Japanese Army in the Pacific. In the post war era, the division was reconstituted as an all-Illinois National Guard division. Camp Doha
Camp Doha was the main U.S. Army base in Kuwait, and played a pivotal role in the U.S. military presence in the Middle East since the 1991 Gulf War and in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The complex is located on a small peninsula on Kuwait Bay, west of Kuwait City. Corps Support Group
A Corps Support Group, or CSG, was a brigade-sized unit in the United States Army. A CSG differs from a Divisional support command (DISCOM) in that it is a corps, not a divisional, asset. Doctrinally, a CSG serves corps units, not division units, but in practice CSGs typically have a close working relationship with a particular division especially in garrison. A CSG's subordinate units also may be parceled out to different commands in theater, thus their wartime organization will normally significantly differ from their garrison organization. Typically, a CSG and its subordinate units will only deploy as far forward as the Division Support Area. Camp Shelby is a U.S. Army post whose south gate is located at the southern boundary of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, along U.S. Highway 49. It was originally established during World War I, and has served almost continuously since then as a training site. Operated by the Mississippi National Guard, is the largest state-owned training site in the nation.
