"20th Century Man" is a song recorded by the English rock band the Kinks. Michael Edward Cotton (born 12 August 1939) is an English jazz and R&B trumpeter, flugelhornist, harmonicist, vocalist and bandleader born in Tottenham, North London.Larkin, C. Michael Charles Avory (born 15 February 1944) is an English musician, best known as the longtime drummer and percussionist for the English rock band the Kinks. He joined them shortly after their formation in 1964 and remained with them until 1984, when he left amid creative friction with guitarist Dave Davies. He is the longest-serving member of the band, apart from the Davies brothers. He is also the most prolific member, again apart from the Davies brothers, who has played on twenty studio albums or nearly all of the band's creative output. John Dalton (musician)
John Dalton (born 21 May 1943) is a British bass guitar player, best known as a member of the Kinks in 1966 and between 1969 and 1976, replacing original member Pete Quaife. Biography John Dalton was educated at Cheshunt Secondary Modern School at the same time as Harry Webb (who later found fame as Cliff Richard). Dalton's desire was to be a full-time musician, and in 1959 he joined Danny King and the Bluejacks as bass guitarist (although he claimed in a 2009 interview, that he could not play a note when he joined). He played alongside Norman Mitham who had just left Cliff Richard's first band. David Russell Gordon Davies ( '; born 3 February 1947) is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter. He was the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the English rock band the Kinks, led by his older brother (and principal writer and singer) Ray, and the both of them were the only consistent members during their existence. Davies also sometimes undertook writing and/or lead vocals duties within the band, for example on songs such as " Death of a Clown", " Party Line", "Strangers" and "Rats". He has also embarked on a solo career, releasing several singles during the late 1960s and has since released eight solo albums. Davies is known for innovative electric guitar technique, specifically in being one of the first to use electric guitar distortion and exposing the effect to the mainstream. ''One for the Road'' is a 1980 live album and video by the Kinks. It was released on 4 June 1980 on LP and cassette in the US, on video on 25 June 1980 in the US, and on 1 August 1980 in the UK. Reception Most of the recordings date from a portion of the 1979-1980 American tour in support of the band's ''Low Budget'' album, hence the inclusion of six songs from that LP. Those songs were augmented by a selection of hits dating back to the band's formation in 1964. In his 1980 review of the album for ''Smash Hits'', David Hepworth said that the album was "as convincing an argument for banning live albums as you'll find".
